The Beginning

So I need some sort of creative outlet and I'm resorting to this-- an online blog. Never thought I'd actually have one and keep up with it so we'll see how it goes.

Everything in my life is finally coming together for the first time in awhile and I'm so happy! I've been accepted to teach English in Spain for a year and I leave the last week of September (I think?). I was really worried about the decision I was going to have to make after graduation.. whether I should "be responsible" and try to find a job, start my career, etc. etc. vs. going to Spain if I was actually, by some miraculous chance, accepted to receive this grant in Spain. I was dreading the decision, but when I got the email last Friday right before graduation, the decision was all of the sudden really obvious and easy. There's no way in hell I could pass up such an awesome opportunity. A year from now, I'll be fluent in Spanish and will have a year more of international experience, which in my opinion, is some of the most valuable experience a person can have. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Okay, sorry, I'll take a deep breath.

But the point of that whole last paragraph was to explain my other reason for starting a blog, to chronicle the next year of my life (and who knows? maybe even more). This way, people like my Aunt Mary can live vicariously through me!
